Michelle Goff moved to Caracas, Venezuela, March 2003 to work full-time with a new congregation planted in the east side of this capital city of over six million people. She has made a long-term commitment to the work in Venezuela. This timeline provides a brief sample of all God has been doing through Michelle and others in East Caracas.
 
2005 Highlights

Making Hallacas for the End-of-Year Party

Fourteen members got together at Michelle's home on Saturday, December 10, to make 130 hallacas and 68 bollitos for the Congregational End-of-Year party. The fellowship and colaboration were special for all the participants. If you don't know what an hallaca is, be sure to visit the site.

 
English Class End-of-Year Party

Students from the Beginning and Advanced English Classes went to Michelle's house on Sunday, December 4, for an end-of-year party. Five students from the Advanced Class also graduated from the first level of the Advanced series that day.

 
Youth "Marathon" up Avila Mountain

Saturday, November 26, the Church of Christ in East Caracas hosted the youth of its congregation and from two other congregations in a marathon up the Avila mountain in Caracas.

 
New Partnership with South Baton Rouge Church of Christ

Starting January 1, 2006, the Church of Christ in East Caracas, through Michelle, will be working more closely with the South Baton Rouge Church of Christ; the church in which Michelle grew up.

 
All-Night Youth Activity on the Beach
Sixteen people piled into three cars for a three hour drive to the beach in order to spend all night in prayer, Bible study, and fellowship with their Christian family.
 
Married Couples' Activity
Four couples were able to attend the first of the monthly couples' get-togethers. This is part of the Saturday rotation of activities for men, women, youth and couples.
 
Baptism and First Congregational Wedding

Yennifer Villarreal, the sister of Dayana, was baptized on Sunday, August 21, the day after Luis Miguel Rodriguez and Elena Rubio were joined in marriage, the first couple to be married from the East Caracas congregation.

 
Life After Death Campaign

Six men from the Timberlane Church of Christ in Tallahassee, Florida, came to Caracas for a week-long conference, which was well-attended and well-received by the congregations in East Caracas and El Silencio and many visitors.

 
Going-Away Party for Geoffrey Wyatt

Geoffrey has been an integral part of the growth of the work in East Caracas. He is moving back to Juneau, Alaska, to continue to work as a school teacher. He will be greatly missed.

 
Special Visit to the home of Maria de Pilar
Michelle is studying with Maria de Pilar and made a special visit to her home in the barrios of West Caracas.
 
Rejoice with those who rejoice...
Mama Rosa is over eighty years old, but is a new sister in Christ! A special road trip was made to help make her baptism possible in her home approximately nine hours from Caracas.
 
And mourn with those who mourn.
Carlos Briceño touched the lives of the members of the church in East Caracas during his six-week stay in the city. His passing was mourned by all and several attended the funeral in the city of Valera.
 
April 2005
Jhonny Frias was baptized on Sunday, April 10, the same Sunday a new Evangelistic English Class was started.
 
Culto Unido, April 3, 2005
Five hundred and sixty-one (561) people representing twelve congregations from the central region of Venezuela joined for an area-wide church service on Sunday, April 3.
 
February 2005
Sunday, February 20, the church celebrated its 2nd anniversary. A lasagna lunch and an attendance of 46 made for a special day.
