After Hurricane Katrina, the South Baton Rouge Church of Christ responded to the needs of the evacuees. Michelle and David were able to visit one of the shelters and talk with many of the volunteers and evacuees. During their stay in Baton Rouge, Hurricane Rita decided to make a second visit to the area. Hurricane Rita cancelled all the flights that Michelle and David were scheduled to fly out on. David was delayed three days and Michelle four.
